Cold Brew Coffee Milkshakes

Alright boys and girls, today we're going to finesse our first item: Cold Brew Coffee Milkshakes.

This one may not be the cheapest on this list, but fasten your seatbelt, because we're about to board the flavor train.

First, the ingredients and supplies neccesary:

Ice cream
Coffee (Preferably Cold Brew)
Blender
Spoon
Cups (For however many you are serving)
French Press

Now lets make those shakes.

Coffee: Any cold coffee will do, don't use hot unless you like to live life on the edge. We here at Midnight Munchies prefer Cold Brew coffee. You can either make your own cold brew or buy it from the Breezeway Grill (Located in the fridge closest to the grills). In order to make your own, buy any type of pre-ground coffee, an espresso such as Cafe Bustelo is nice for an extra caffeine buzz. Next, you need some way of soaking the coffee in water and straining it. The easiest way of doing this, especially when making enough for only one or two people is with a French Press. First put one cup (eyeball it if needed, this isn't rocket science people) of coffee grounds into the Press, filling it to 3/4 with water afterwards. Next, put the lid on and let it sit for 12-24 hours in the fridge. If you don't have a mini fridge already, use your friends, or stick it in the snow for 6 hour intervals taking an hour to let it warm up in between (so it doesn't freeze, that makes it hard to strain). If you don't have a French Press, you'll need 3 things, a plastic pitcher, some plastic wrap (to cover it in the fridge/snow) and cheese cloth. If you use this method put your coffee in the cheese cloth and tie it off with a rubber band. Put it in the pitcher with about 2 cups of water. If using this method to make a large batch, triple the amounts used.

For the ice cream, it is honestly up to personal preference. You can purchase pints at the Breezeway Grill, but for a cheaper option, especially if you have a freezer in your fridge, buy gallons from Wawa or any other convenience store. For a full on coffee experience, use some classic vanilla or coffee flavored. For a suppressed coffee flavor use something along the lines of peanut butter cup and cookies and cream. Again, however, it is up to you what flavors to use. Our personal favorite to do is a mixture of Reeses' ice cream and coffee.

Now that we've got the ingredients out of the way, lets get down to business.

First, take out your blender. Fill it about 3/4 of the way full with the ice cream you chose. After that add however much coffee you'd like. Now blend that that cup of deliciousness.

CONGRATS! Now you have a cheap-ish, delicious shake to enjoy with friends, or by yourself, we don't judge your loneliness here.
